Google Tests Search Results Listings Without Descriptions

Written By Unknown on Thursday 5 March 2015 | 08:37

Google tests how searchers would react to not seeing a snippet description in the search results.

Gianluca Fiorelli spotted a new Google test, or maybe a Google bug, where Google removed the descriptions from the search results listing page. All you see are clickable titles and URLs, but nothing in between. Typically, you’d see a description snippet, a line or two, describing the web page you are looking at in the Google search results.

This Google tests removes that description section. Here is a picture from Gianluca:

He was able to see this on Google.ES, i.e. Google Spain. I am personally not able to replicate it but it wouldn’t surprise me if Google is indeed testing this. Personally, I am not a fan of this look but Google does test these things. I doubt this test will make it to the public.
